In preparation for a major update in the next two weeks, Sprint has released a small update for Samsung Instinct. According to the source, the software update will do some updates to the Samsung ROM - the base code that the applications run on so that the phone will be ready for another round of application updates in early August.

Here is a list of the fixes or changes on this update:
As the next update is coming in soon, you may want to wait for the next software update. There is no official words that you have to apply this patch before the next major update.

Mark/Space has released the finalised version of their Missing Sync for Symbian. A report on Tuaw states the Missing Sync for Symbian is designed to sync Mac apps to Symbian S60 and UIQ smartphones.
So Mac lovers out there in Symbian land, you can now sync those Mac apps with the likes of Sony Ericsson, Motorola and Nokia based S60 and UIQ mobile handsets.

The finailised version of Mark/Space’s Missing Sync for Symbian also includes a swanky Proximity Syncing feature, which enables the users mobile phone and Mac to sync and say hello whenever they are within Bluetooth range, which is about thirty feet.
What the Missing Sync for Symbian does is sync personal information like contacts, calendar tasks, and events, and also uses proprietary Call Log and SMS applications to move the phones call log and text messages to the Mac. Other stuff that can be synced is video, photo, music, and document files.
The Missing Sync for Symbian is available for download now at $39.95, or if you prefer a pack with more licences it’ll cost you $169.79.

GeoSentric Oyj’s, GeoSolutions BV Business Unit (GyPSii), has entered into a multi-year worldwide agreement with Samsung. GyPSii will provide technology, products, worldwide data center infrastructure, and GyPSii branding rights to Samsung, on a worldwide non-exclusive basis for a range of Samsung products.

GyPSii’s digital lifestyle application will be initially be bundled on Samsung’s Omnia (SGH-i900) and SGH-i780 as an embedded application. Samsung’s customers will be able to take full advantage of the location-based social networking digital lifestyle features of the GyPSii suite and create and share user generated content (UGC) with GyPSii’s global user community, and other interoperable social
networks such as Facebook. The agreement has provisions for revenue sharing between GyPSii and Samsung, utilizing the business models enabled by GyPSii.
GyPSii’s PlaceRank technology will also be utilized to deliver highly contextual and personally relevant user generated content, regional POI (points of interest) and location-targeted advertising to users.
“Social networking and location-based services on the mobile phone are now mainstream, so we looked to emerging innovators in the industry to support and deliver these value-added services,” said WS Lee, Vice President of R&D, at Samsung Electronics Mobile Business.

Sprint today introduces the launch of Sprint Web, offering an adaptive home page that delivers content based on the customer’s previous usage, along with direct access to search from Google.

The new Sprint Web home page uses technology by ChangingWorlds, to provide each customer with dynamic, relevant content and information as a result of their past usage. For example, if a customer continually goes to sports links, the top sports stories will be featured. This allows customers to quickly get relevant information based on what they use most, making it easier to navigate the Internet on their phones and reducing the time they spend looking for content. To access Sprint Web, customers simply click the Web icon on the main menu of their phone.
Sprint Web also gives customers direct access from the home page to Google search, so users can get relevant open Internet results quickly and easily, in a format they’re used to seeing on their computer screens. Sprint Web is available today on 40+ popular Sprint phones, including RAZR2 by Motorola, Centro by Palm, Rumor by LG, Upstage by Samsung, and Katana DLX by Sanyo. Sprint plans to make Sprint Web available on virtually all Web-capable Sprint feature phones over the coming weeks.

Once Flixwagon posted their video demo of their app running on a jailbroken Apple iPhone last month, many iPhoner’s have been eagerly awaiting for Flixwagon to go live with their iPhone app.
Well iPhoners you need wait no longer because Flixwagon has announced they are now live with Flixwagon for iPhone. The app is currently in alpha stage testing, so please don’t expect everything to run hunky dory.

Without a native video recording option for the Apple iPhone we are of a mind that Flixwagon will definitely do well as hoards of iPhones rush for the public program.
