Acision and Seeker Wireless have partnered with SPH Search, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), to launch the nation’s first cross-telco mobile search marketing solution called Rednano Locate. Enabled by Acision’s expertise in mobile marketing and Seeker Wireless’ location-based solution called SeekerLocate, Rednano Locate is a mobile application that allows consumers to do a keyword search on more than 100,000 vendors through SPH Search’s directory of business listings. The search results produced will have location specific information on the establishment, including an option to view a map for directions to the selected listing. The service aims to bring location-based search to mass-market handsets.

Paul Jansen, CEO of SPH Search, said: “With Rednano Locate, users can have localised search results literally at their fingertips anytime, anywhere. Beyond just getting Directory information, users can do more: they can view a location map of the subject they are looking for, or directly dial the contact number given. We want the use of Rednano Locate to become an integral part of the daily lifestyle for Singaporeans, helping them make convenient choices whether for work or play.”

Cupcake for Google Android, will it ever get here? We’ve been shown videos, images, read the rumours and the like, which have simply just taken forever to get anywhere near real. But while you T-Mobile G1ers wait and wait we have what appears to be another round of Cupcake images for you.
Yes, it seems this is about as close as any Android nut is going to get to Cupcake, well for now anyway…more screenshot of the elusive update.
Not a great deal to get excited about, one screenshot shows the Cupcake firmware as being 1.5, but other than that nothing major, and well the screens could always be photoshopped, but just why anyone would waste their time doing that I can’t understand, so take tem as real for now.

This week Shazam announced that it has increased its music database from six to eight million tracks following new major partnerships and direct sourcing activities. The extra two million tracks will be linked to Shazam’s other unique assets, taking users on a music journey from discovery to knowledge with artist biographies and album reviews through to purchase of the music they love through affiliated partners.
By using Shazam service, users can find any song they want to listen to even at an unexpected moment. By recording and sending a tune to Shazam server, users can easily track down and even purchase the song, through participating operators’ music stores.
Shazam has already released its music discovery software for Android last month, allows T-Mobile G1 users to discover music that can immediately be purchased through the Amazon MP3 store and connect with artists through MySpace.

If you are a BlackBerry owner the last thing you want is your kid playing with it and this is where LeapFrog comes into play with their kid’s Text and Learn handset.
With LeapFrog’s new Text and Learn handset, children can have the feel of a device much like your BlackBerry and gives them the feel of email with the risk of sending an email to your boss.
Text and Learn has a full QWERTY keyboard with a large LCD screen and gives the child “pretend text messages” to LeapFrog’s puppy character although the device can’t actually connect to the net. Text and Learn from LeapFrog should be available in August with a price tag of £19.99

American Historic Inns, Inc. and iLoveInns.com announced the release of InnTouch for iPhone and iPod touch users. The new application gives users access to iLoveInns’ selected inn listings for more than 3,500 inns and small hotels in the United States and Canada. The new application is available at the iPhone App Store for free to travelers looking for unique lodging experiences such as that found at bed and breakfasts and country inns.
Top features of the mobile guide include descriptions and detailed information on B and boutique inns in nearly 2,000 cities, 10,000 photos, the ability to locate inns near your current location, and push-to-call capabilities and functionality that allows users to make reservations. Travelers can search for lodgings using GPS, current address and city. An additional feature highlights more than 1,200 recipes of favorite dishes served at B and country inns nationwide.
“IPhone shifts the paradigm of how we communicate and how we interact with the Web. InnTouch is a mechanism to give privately owned inns and bed and breakfasts a presence with a wide variety of users,” said David Sakach, head of iLoveInns.com’s product development. “We are proud to bring the very best small inns and boutique hotels to mobile customers and look forward to offering travelers, both leisure and business, the surprise of discovering America’s finest hospitality.”
Chris Monahan, chief technology officer at iLoveInns.com, was the lead designer of the application. “You can search for inns by city or see what’s around you using the Nearby feature. This pulls your GPS coordinates and shows you nearby inns within 60 miles. With the phone being an all-in-one device, a person can call the inn for reservations with one touch; not dialing each digit of the phone number. They can see the inn’s address on a map, get directions, save the address in their contact list, as well as e-mail or visit the inn’s Web site with single-click actions. We have a huge list of features that we plan to implement, including adding international inns,” he added.
