Palm has now released a new firmware for the Sprint branded Palm Pre and is WebOS version 1.0.4 according to an article over on engadget mobile.
Apparently the only change with WebOS 1.0.4 is to security issues and Palm even gives credit to Pre homebrewer, Townsend Ladd Harris for his cooperation in locating the security vulnerabilities.
Unfortunately Palm has now plugged the hole which allowed homebrew applications on the Palm Pre without any jailbreak, as the hole was dangerous to leave open, although apparently any software already installed will continue to work.

Verizon Wireless and HTC today introduce the Verizon Wireless HTC Ozone, a re-work of the HTC Snap entry level smartphone. The HTC Ozone will be $49.99 after a $70 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. It will go on sale from June 29th online and will be available in your local stores from July 13th.

Available in black color, the candybar smartphone has a QWERTY keyboard and running with the Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard. It supports Verizon Wireless’s EVDO Rev.A network, comes with built in WiFi and pre-installed with AIM, Yahoo messenger.

A new hybrid device by Sony to beat Apple iPhone and iPod may soon be developed for those of us who love our games.
We found via Yahoo Tech Sony Corp are looking to develop a cellphones-game gear hybrid that will compete with the iPod and the iPhone. The Japanese launched their first Walkman over three decades ago but is running way behind the iPod and the iPhone.
Capcom Co Ltd and Square Holdings the game-makers are at the moment offering software for the iPod and iPhone to take advantage of the popularity of the Apple products posing a threat to Sony Playstations Portable and Nintendo Co Ltd’s DS.
