What’s better than a crazy, obvious-looking mock-up of a phone? A radical, completely unfounded rumor to go along with it, of course! That’s exactly what we have here, with this image of the supposed Samsung Galaxy S Pro floating around. Sure, it may look cool, and yeah, we’d love to have another option to bring to the 4-inch screen Android camp, but . . . Well, perhaps we’ll just say that it may be too good to be true. It doesn’t help that the rumor is based on what someone has “heard,” with nothing else to go on.

So, what’s the Pro version of the Galaxy S getting that makes it so “Pro?” The full, slide-out QWERTY keyboard. And, that’s it. It still has the smartphone market’s fastest 1GHz processor, the 4-inch Super AMOLED display, and Android 2.1, but other than the physical keyboard, it’s the same device. We know that for the lot of you, a physical keyboard can be the whole reason you buy, or don’t buy a device, so maybe that’s exactly what Samsung is thinking with the Pro version of the Galaxy S. Of course, we can’t stress enough that this is just a rumor, and that’s definitely not an official image from Samsung.
The truth is, we’re going to bet that Samsung will put a lot of effort into selling the Galaxy S. With that being said, having two models, with the same name for the most part, doesn’t seem like the best idea. Especially not when you’re trying to sell that processor, and Super AMOLED screen. Having it in the Samsung Wave should be just fine for now. However, if Samsung comes out of the dark and announces this thing, we’ll jump all over it. It’s got a physical keyboard!

The HTC Desire is sexy. There’s no other way to explain it, truth be told. It exists, simply because it needs to be beautiful. And HTC knew that from the get-go. They’ve managed to create a device that, in all honesty, manages to take our breath away, just by simply gazing at it. Sure, it has the same internals as the Nexus One, and even the same display, but it just looks sexy. And, the moment it got unboxed, well, we had to share the good news.

The guys over at SlashGear managed to get their lucky paws on one, and they took good care of it. That 3.7-inch, AMOLED display shines bright, and as you can see, that 1GHz Snapdragon processor under the hood manages to control the Sense User Interface runnning atop Android 2.1 with just that bit of spit-polish we’ve come to expect. Oh, and for good measure, it has a 5MP camera on the back, for when you need to snap a picture on the go.
But, quit listening to us. For the full run-down of the process, head on over to SlashGear and bask in the glory of the Android-powered HTC Desire. So, enjoy, and remember who brings you the good stuff.
