Intuit and mophie have announced their Complete Credit Card Solution for iPhone, which integrates Intuit’s GoPayment credit card processing app and mophie marketplace credit card reader add-on to the iPhone hardware. Available in Apple retail stores, it is sold for $179.95 and the Intuit’s GoPayment credit card processing app is available free on Apple App Store.

By adding the sleek, clip-on mophie marketplace card reader, merchants can save time by securely swiping credit cards instead of entering numbers by hand. After swiping the card, data is immediately encrypted using Intuit’s industry-standard security methods. Customers authorize the payment by signing their name on the iPhone touch screen. The merchant can then send them an e-mail or text receipt. GoPayment processes the credit card within seconds and funds are deposited into the businesses’ bank account. An additional option lets businesses integrate GoPayment with QuickBooks Mac to easily and quickly match the right customer and invoice in QuickBooks.
GoPayment, including the Intuit merchant account, offers competitive pricing at $12.95 a month, a 1.7 to 3.7 percent discount rate and $0.30 to $0.34 per transaction fee. There are no long-term contracts, cancellation, gateway or set-up fees, and one account can enable up to 50 users.

Back in October 2000, Vodafone purchased a 2.18 percent stake in China Mobile at a cost of $2.5 billion and then followed in 2002 with another purchase for $750 million taking their stake in China Mobile up to 3.27 percent.
However, according to an article over on Intomobile by Stefan Constantinescu, and by way of the AFP, Vodafone is now considering selling off their interest in China Mobile and looking for a sum of $6.2 billion for their stake.
One has to say that a $6.2 billion return on their $3.25 outlay is quite reasonable to say the least especially when Vodafone hasn’t had to do anything at all.
Apparently the deal is expected to drop later in September although it’s not clear whether Vodafone will drop its shares onto the Hong Kong Stoke Exchange or have a conglomerate already interested in the purchase, and when contacted, Vodafone as usual with most, declined to comment but did state that it is just speculation.

If you are one of the green brigade toting an iPhone 4 and looking to keep the all things eco friendly, there is a new eco friendly iPhone 4 case coming to the market in early September which is constructed from bioplastics.
According to an article over on Earthtechling by Nino Marchetti, the new eco friendly iPhone 4 cases from bioserie have been manufactured from a “new propriety blend of biobased components,” which come from “annually renewable plant material.”
The CEO of bioserie, Kaya Kaplancali, says, “We believe it is possible to enjoy technology without harming the fragile ecosystems of our Earth. We’re exploring the cutting-edge of green science to develop products that allow consumers to enjoy their iPhone 4 and other Apple devices in an environmentally-responsible way.”
Apparently these new iPhone 4 cases contain no toxic parts and weigh just 0.4 ounces and have been designed with what they call “protection feet,” which apparently enables “safe facedown placement” of your iPhone 4.
As previous stated these new iPhone 4 cases will become available from bioserie in September in a choice of colours and command a price tag of $34.95.
